At all modern printing plants the pre-press process is digitalised. Schibsted Trykk receives pages using fixed lines from our newspaper customers.

In the plate department the electronic pages are processed, and printing plates are produced. In the computer system, JetNet System, the pages/files are checked, marked and subtitled before sorting. The production of plates take place in new 3rd generation CTPs (Computer To Plate). The printing plates are illuminated using a violet laser. The plates we use are so-called photopolymer plates. They need to be warmed up in a preheater before they are processed and coated with gum. The coating is necessary to protect the plates against oxidation. After the processor unit the plates are punched and bended, before being sent to the right printing towers.

Schibsted Trykk has 4 CTP machines with processors made by Krause. The production has full flexibility to serve the two printing press halls. Total production capacity is 1000 plates per hour.
